This is the first book I have read by Ariana. This book was a bit of a slow read for me. Nina is starting over. After learning that the fairytale life she thought she was living wasn’t all it sunshine and rose. She is now a single mother to a teenage daughter. Dealing with trying to be as honest as possible with her daughter but protecting the relationship her daughter has with her father. Mia is upset and her father doesn’t seem to care anymore. After some bad advice from a friend her and her mother’s world is about to change again. Tyler is just trying to help out his sister at her store. She has been having some issues lately. He never expected to be so changed by a young shoplifter and her mother. This book was a sweet moving romance. Nina’s ex is an asshole. He had his cake and was eating it. Even after the divorce he was still living the high life. Once Nina starts to move on though it’s a different story. Suddenly he cares what is happening in his ex and daughter’s lives. Tyler maybe younger than Nina but he is mature and what’s more he understands what Mia is going through. I really enjoyed this book. Tyler is a wonderful man who is perfect for Nina. He may not have the money her ex does but he is there for them both and that is worth more. Tyler and the ex were always going to come to a head. I liked how their peak was different than an argument and fight. Wonderful Ariana. I look forward to reading more by her in the future.

This is the fifth book in this series. They are better read in order. However, it is also part of a larger series and about all the packs. This book is about Jade and Steele. Jade is a elemental fire witch and Steele is the enforcer for the aspen pack. They both claim not to want the each other while knowing they are mates. But is that they don’t want a mate or is it that they have both been hurt in the past. The moon goddess chose them for each other for a reason. They may not understand it now but they will. The pack is still under attack. The demon has a plan and he wants Jade as part of that plan. When he can’t get her to cooperate, he decides to try to attack Steele. Will he succeed in his plan or will it turn out to be his downfall? Both Jade and Steele have their reasons for not wanting to complete the mating bond. It isn’t that they don’t like each other or want to be with each other. Past trauma plays a large part. The moon goddess has been pushing people to mate lately to protect her children. This time will be no different. The two maybe forced into mating but both want it deep down. Jade has a secret that she fears will affect the way everyone sees her. But that same secret could be what saves Steele. Steele and Jade are perfect for each other. This book is the last book for the Aspen pack. I hope to continue to read more about all these characters in other books. Fantastic job Carrie.
