This is the second book in the series. They can be read as
standalone books. I haven’t read the first one and wasn’t lost or confused at
all. Halle and Knox were high school sweethearts. Each other’s first loves but
life took them in different directions. Now 20 years later they have reunited. Neither
ever stopped loving the other. Knox sees this as his second chance and Halle fights
what she is feeling. Halle is newly divorced and a mother of 2 kids. Knox is
divorced as well and retired from the military. Both are starting a new chapter
in their lives. Can they be together in this new chapter? There are things that
Halle doesn’t know about from way back then. Knox is going to do whatever he
can to show Halle he isn’t going anywhere this time. I really enjoyed this
book. I really related to both characters. Halle feels like her life is falling
down around her and she doesn’t know who she is anymore. Knox knows the feeling
well. He wants to help her figure out who she is now and who she wants to be.
The series is about Knox and his siblings. Each sibling has a book about them
and how they connect with their person. I look forward to more books in this
series and have added the first one to my TBR list. Fantastic job L.B. Dunbar.
