My Review of Obeying the Bear (The Callaghan Clan Book 1)

Obeying the Bear: BBW Paranormal Shapeshifter Romance (The Callaghan Clan Book 1)Obeying the Bear: BBW Paranormal Shapeshifter Romance by Meredith Clarke
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read by these ladies. I really enjoyed reading this book. Shifters are my favorite genre and this one didn’t let me down. Emma left her bear clan a year ago. Her and her bear felt trapped by what was expected from her. She loved and still loves Brandt but it was the fact that she didn’t really have a say in the matter. The clan’s second, Dixon comes and finds her to tell her that her Alpha has been killed and the funeral will be in a few days. Dixon thinks she should be there for the funeral and for Brandt. She puts in the necessary paperwork for time off at her job and makes the trip. She is nervous when she arrives. Unsure how the clan and more importantly to her how Brandt will react to seeing her again. Brandt is unsure if Emma will show up. Part of him hopes she does and the other is unsure of how he will feel if she does. He never really got over losing her and now he has lost his father as well. He had no clue his father had his paw in so many pies so to speak and now he is overrun with paperwork and contracts. So many people want him to talk to him or for him to listen to what they have to say. Everything changes when Brandt sees Emma at the funeral. Everything he felt or thought he felt is left behind. The bear and man feel whole seeing her again. Now he just has to make sure she is back for good. The clan is facing more issues than just the loss of their alpha. Anyone is the pack is free to challenge Brandt to be alpha. The clan is split in two. Most are behind Brandt for alpha but not all. Plus Brandt doesn’t believe his father was killed by poaches he believes he was murdered he just doesn’t know by who. Will Brandt and Emma get a second chance at forever? Was the old alpha murdered, and if so by who? This book has mystery, second chance romance, and more. The characters in this book are intriguing and I can’t wait to read the next book. This book was short just under 100 pages so could easily read it in a few hours. I will be recommending this book to friends.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.
