About Eva

A confirmed city-girl, Eva moved to rural Western Massachusetts in 2014. This is the first book I have read by Eva. In the introduction Eva warns that you will either love or hate JD but either way he won’t leave you untouched and she wasn’t wrong. This book had me all over the place. At first, I thought JD was a first-class a**hole. But as the book progressing you see different sides to him. While he is an a hole there is more to him. Gabrielle and JD have a past and when he first comes back into her life, she isn’t pleased at all. She wants him gone and doesn’t want to hear anything he has to say. But things change. This book takes you on a wild ride for sure. I kept thinking why doesn’t he just explain himself to her and why is he is doing what he’s doing. I think he worries that she won’t believe him or it won’t be enough. This is a duet so there is a cliff hanger. If those aren’t your thing don’t bother reading it till both books are out. I am eager to read the second book and she where the story goes next. Something is definitely going on and I have a guess to who might be behind it and why. I can’t wait to see if I am right. I recommend this book if you like emotional, darker romances with a bit of mystery.
