This is the fifth book in the series. They can be read as
standalone books. I haven’t read any of the other books in the series and
wasn’t lost. Aleks and Heather run into each other literally in the grocery
store. She takes him completely by surprise. He lives by the motto have a plan
don’t act on impulse. That goes completely out the window when it comes to
Heather. It turns out that Heather went to school with his family. She was in a
play with on of his brothers. So she has heard the rumors. They fall fast for each
other. No matter how many times Aleks tries to convince himself to let her go
for her own safety he just can’t. They are meant to be together. Now he just
needs to get Heather to understand the true danger she could be in just by
being with him. Danger is closer than either of them know. This book had me
hooked from the start. I loved the characters. Aleks’ family is wonderful. They
may do illegal things but they are wonderful men. They would do anything to
assure that their women and family were safe. The woman who have joined the
family are wilting flowers. They are more than capable when needed. I have
added the other books in the series to my tbr list. Fantastic job Sabine. I
look forward to reading more book by Sabine in the future.

Sabine Barclay, a nom de plume also writing Historical Romance as Celeste Barclay, lives near the Southern California coast where she's a former rower and a hopeful surfer, a self-proclaimed foodie, and a lover of the outdoors.
