This is the debut book for L. Caldwell. This book was a
great read. Evangeline has moved back to London with her brother, Frederick after
her father’s death. Her brother says she needs to marry to save the father. It’s
odd in this day and age but still happens with wealthy families. Chester can’t
believe who his new neighbor is, then to make things worse the woman he can’t
stop thinking about is the man’s sister. Frederick and Chester hate each other
and it appears Evangeline maybe in the middle of it now. Evangeline knows her
brother and is getting to know Chester. She is having a hard time believing
what she is being told. She is trapped to save her family’s wealth she must
give up her future. But what if there was a way to do both? Is her family worth
worrying about or are they just using her? This book was a fantastic read from
start to finish. I would love to read more about Topper and Moreen. Chester has
seen the worst of marriages and what they can do. He is scared to take that
chance even if it means losing Evangeline as well. I am hooked and need more of
this series now. Fantastic job L. Caldwell.
