This is the fifth book in this series, 6 if you count the prequel. Afton ran from a complicated situation involving an arranged marriage. Hamish life has taken a drastic turn since he let Afton about the possible out in her situation. Now she is back. Afton has come back now that she knows Connor is getting married. She doesn’t know if she will stay or not. She wants to make amends to everyone affected by her choice. What she never expected was to come back and find that Hamish was now divorced and had moved back with his daughter. Afton and Hamish will have to face how they feel about each other and whether or not there could be anything going forward. Hamish and Afton has wanted each other for a long time but nothing could come of it before, but now it can. Hamish feels like he can’t give Afton what she deserves so he doesn’t want to start anything. Afton steps up when Hamish needs help with his daughter, Freya. If helping out leads to him seeing that they should give them a chance then so be it. This book was a fantastic read. I was hooked right from the start. I haven’t read any of the other books in the series. I wasn’t lost of confused but I can’t wait to read the others now. Afton is a wonderful woman who thought her life was going to go one way almost her whole life and now has a chance to do what she wants. Her choice to run affected many people but it seems it was all for the best. Hamish holds himself to a high standard but lately he has been feeling like he is failing on all fronts. The pair will help each other in ways they never imagined. I highly recommend this book and the series. Wonderful job Kait.
