Sawyer Knight is world famous rock star who is hiding something. Not only from the world but he is denying it about himself. He thinks if he lets it out or accepts it that everyone will reject him. Which is the thing is most afraid of. He has been able to not think about it for the last 10 years until someone from his past comes back into his life. His band has gotten a new head of security. When he is introduced to the person he learns it is his long time friend Jake. Jake’s dad got a better job and they had to move away. The day Jake moved away he let Sawyer know that he was attracted to him and had been for quite some time. Now that Jake is back Sawyer can no longer ignore that fact that he may be gay. Jake lets Sawyer know that he is back for him and won’t let him get away twice. Jake understands that Sawyer’s shell won’t be easy to crack. He is willing to take his time and help Sawyer realize how he really feels. The reason Jake signed on to be the band’s new head of security wasn’t just because of Sawyer. The band, mostly Sawyer has been receiving death threats. I really enjoyed this book. It was a different take on a romance. The book was very well written and the characters where engaging. I felt for Sawyer and the internal struggle he was going through. Jack was also was struggling. It was great when Sawyer learned people wouldn’t treat him any different. I look forward to reading more from this author. There are characters in this book that I would love to have their own book and read more about them.
