 This is a great funny and emotional read. Sometimes things aren’t what they seem. Emi has managed not to see her ex-fiancé for nearly two years. Now her twin brother is marring his sister. She will be forced to see once again. She only hopes all his hair has fallen out and he has gotten fat. Emi’s is about to learn that she may have been wrong about Jack. The days leading up to the wedding are full of emotion and one accident after another. From bridesmaid’s dresses from hell to dealing with the truth. Things get even more interesting when she flees to a local dive bar. She meets the owner Liam, he is new and maybe just what she needs to prove she is over Jack. This book is funny, and a bit crazy. There are secrets and manipulation and more. The book is almost told in reverse. You start with Emi getting ready to go visit her brother leading up to the wedding. Then the story goes to the past and back to the present. Normally I’m not crazy with this story of storyline but I liked it this time. I love Emi. She doesn’t have the best luck and is trying her best in this very uncomfortable situation. She never imagined to would learn what she does or that attending the wedding might lead her back to Jack. I loved this book and can’t wait to read more books by Aimee in the future.

Tall, lean and smooth, he had a body of a runner. His navy swim trunks clung deliciously tight to his narrow waist, and his legs, long and muscular, cut through the surf with ease. If the beach had been filled with women, they would’ve swarmed him like a school of hungry sharks.

Broad shoulders straight, the guy carried a T-shirt and towel in his hand and moved with purpose as if he had to be somewhere. It was a shame she couldn’t see what was behind those tinted aviators. A flurry of grays, blues and greens flashed before her as she tried to imagine his eye color. He suddenly tossed his belongings onto the beach and dove in the white-crested waves.

This book is wow. It is emotional and gut wrenching. Mila was left at the alter 8 years ago. She has wandered for 8 years why he left, what she did wrong, why, why, why? Now when she is finally getting ready to maybe move on he has come back. He says he hasn’t come back to try and win her heart again but surely, he can’t be telling her the truth. Why has he come now, why is finally willing to tell her why he left? Andrew her best and almost one-night stand has been by her side all this time. They are both single for the first time and are beginning to see each other in a different light. Andrew makes her feel alive. She laughs and gets butterflies in her stomach. The only problem is he may not be totally over his ex and her ex has come back. Will getting the answers to why Cole left give her closure or pull her back in? This book takes you on an emotional rollercoaster. I was curious as to why Cole left on their wedding day when they seemed to be so in love. Then when I found out why and the story progressed, I have to say that I am kind of frustrated. Yes, some of the things that happened are horrible. The reason doesn’t excuse what he did. He had 8 years to write or call or hell let one of the other people who knew what happened tell her and give her that closure. He didn’t until he was at a place where they could be together again. While this a great book I don’t think that he is right for her. I don’t really like Cole and while I am not saying that she should have chosen Andrew instead but that she should have chosen a fresh start again.  Great job Veronica. This book makes you think and feel. Just like the art in the book everyone will think something different about it.
