This is the first book I have read by Dani. I must say I’m
torn on how I feel about this book. First, I will say that this book wasn’t
like I thought it would be based on the blurb. It is much darker than I thought
it would be. Not that that is turn off for me. I am not that big of a fan of
stepbrother romances but this one wasn’t that bad. They had literally just met.
I feel for Nesrin. Her whole life has been hard. Her mother doesn’t seem to
love her and her father isn’t around. Now her mother has married a man and is
moving them in with him and his three sons. Her life really isn’t her own even
though she is eighteen. Damien’s life is much the same. He is about nine years older
than her and his life is still controlled by his father in all the important
ways. Nesrin has a dark way of dealing with her emotions. With Damien she doesn’t
feel the need to do that anymore. But she worries how long that will last. Will
he grow tired of her and move on? There are lots of secrets in this book as
well. Nesrin’s life is turned upside down in the book as well. I had to take a
break from reading it for a bit. There is a lot going on in the book. It made
me feel heavy and I felt for the characters so much. I think I will read the
next book in the series. Dani you did a fantastic job, congrats.
