This is the first book in a new series by Deanndra. Amethyst finds herself in quite the situation. Her boyfriend of four years has broken up with her when she finds out they are pregnant. He wants her to get rid of the baby. Her grades are dropping and she has nowhere to live. So, she does the only thing she can. She goes to her dad. Jackson is surprised to find the daughter of his friend stranded on the side of the road. He doesn’t hesitate to help. He is struck by the way he feels when he sees her. He gets the feeling something is going on but has no idea what. Amethyst feels something for Jackson as well. She is surprised that he would want a girl so much younger than him and pregnant as well. Jackson has a tragic past. Amethyst being pregnant and he could have a family is a plus for him not a negative. Jackson and Amethyst fall into a whirlwind romance. But Amethyst’s ex isn’t quite done with her. He doesn’t want her back but he doesn’t want her to get rid of that baby one way or another. What lengths will he go to to make sure that happens. Will Jackson be able to protect her or will he add to the guilt he carries? I really liked this story. I believe it links to others books by Deanndra. I highly recommend Deanndra and her books. I have read lots of them and always love them. I like that she tends to write about older characters getting their second chance at love. Congrats on another great book Deanndra.
