This is the fourth book in the series. They can be read as
standalone books. I haven’t read the other books in this series and I wasn’t
confused at all. It did make me won’t to read the other books though. Aurora is
an FBI Agent. Her brother being taken when she was little drives her.
Especially on her current case. Alexei and his family are being threatened.
They need Aurora to work with them to protect their family. What neither of them
expected was to have an instant connection. Most of Alexei’s life was horrible.
The things he has experienced can’t even be described. There is something about
Aurora call to his protective instincts. Alexei’s broken parts call to Aurora’s
soft caring side. But Alexei is holding back things. Even if she gives in while
they are undercover how will she react when she inevitably learns about what
Alexei is keeping from her? The two are connected in ways Aurora doesn’t know
about. This book is a fantastic read. I love the characters. I will warn the
book is a bit of an emotional roller coaster. Both characters go through a lot
in the book. I felt for both characters for different reasons. I love that on
the surface the two seem so different but they aren’t really. Sure, the things
they went through are different but the scares it left behind aren’t all that
different. Fantastic job Eva.
