This is the fifth and final book in this series. They can be read as standalone books. I haven’t read any of the other books in this series and wasn’t confused at all. Egan has been in love with Sophia for a while. She knows how he feels but is reluctant to return those feelings. Egan is patient. He is there for Sophia no matter what. Sophia has decided to just tell Egan her fears and take a chance on them. Now that Egan has a chance with Sophia, he isn’t going to waste it. Only now someone who has found out about Egan’s past wants Egan to work for them. They will do anything to get Egan to work for them. Even hurt Sophia. I love Egan. He is amazing. He hasn’t always been a good guy but he has been the good guy for some time. Egan just wants to be there for Sophia and for her to allow him to love her. He cooks for her, wants to make sure she is safe, and more. Sophia is wonderful she just hasn’t had to best luck when it comes to those she loves. Egan used to be part of Hidden Justice but isn’t anymore. That doesn’t mean that those men won’t help him if needed. I have added the other books in this series to my TBR list after reading this. Great job Melanie. This story line was great and the characters are fantastic. I look forward to reading more books by Melanie in the future.
