About Sloane Murphy

My name is Sloane, but people call me a variety of names, particularly after they read my books. If you’ve read them, I’m sure you can use your imagination to work them out. I was born in England and have lived in small towns and cities ever since. My husband, Chris, is the most supportive person in my life. Without his love, help and patience I wouldn't be where I am today. Living my dreams, with him by my side and our crazy fur baby creating chaos. At school I drifted through, achieving average grades. I fell into administration and sales jobs, thinking that I couldn't really do anything else, despite always wanting more. I’d been writing poetry and song lyrics since the age of about 11, but my love of reading has always been strong. In 2012, I got my first kindle and discovered the works of Samantha Young, Addison Moore, Amanda Hocking, Tijan, A.E Murphy and many many more. In 2015 I stumbled into the indie world by accident. I emailed a certain indie author after falling head over heels for her books, and she became one of the best friends I will ever have. She’s a gladiator! But she pulled me in, and took me to my first book signing. She encouraged me to start my blog. She encouraged me to put my art out into the world, first with teasers & covers. Then when I finally told her about my stories, she encouraged me to put them out there. Between her and the one I love the most – thank you, Lauren Rowe - (my twinnie, and my best friend) I found the confidence to put myself out there, and the rest, as they say, is history.

This is the first book I have read by Sloane and I loved it. This book is dark and nothing is as it seems. These are Dark Fae and there are always alternative motives involved with them. Emilia life changed one day when the boy she could have loved, Cade, killed her twin. Now years later she is going to be forced to compete for the chance to be his queen. Her father is holding the man she currently loves hostage and doing who knows what horrible things to him to get her to agree to compete for queen. How much is Emilia willing to sacrifice. Her love with be released and her brother will get to come home but, her life will no longer be her own. This book takes you on one wild ride. Nothing is as it seems. Cade is who he appears to be. He too is just doing what he needs to do to survive his father. His brother is her only advocate in the castle. She is forced to go through several trials in competition to be Cade’s bride. The ending is killer though. I didn’t see it coming at all. I can’t wait to read the next book. The characters in this book are fantastic. I was completely pulled into this book and couldn’t put it down. I look forward to reading more books by Sloane in the future.

Ben (The 13, Book 4) Blog Tour +Giveaway

Title: Ben (The 13, Book 4)
Author: Anne L. Parks
Genre: Military Romance/ Thriller/ Suspense
Release Date: October 16, 2018
Cover Designer: Buoni Amici Press

They say you can’t escape your past. Especially when it takes you hostage. When Mia Rowland is taken hostage, nothing will stand in Ben Wells’ way. Not his career as a Navy SEAL. Not even his life.
Mia Rowland wants nothing more than to start her life with the man she loves. But when terrorists kidnap her as she testifies against a US Senator, her dreams of “happily ever after” are, once again, jeopardized.
Ben Wells is anxious to propose to the woman who has stolen his heart. However, his hopes for a lifetime of love and happiness with Mia are put on hold as he embarks on a desperate mission to rescue her—from an enemy he never saw coming.
Ben and Mia are on a perilous race to reclaim their future—before catastrophe separates them forever.

Ben sat on the end of the aisle and watched one of his new best friends get married. He was happy for Mason, but he also couldn’t seem to swallow the bit of jealousy lodged in his throat. This should be Mia and him standing at the alter, vowing to share their lives forever.
Mia…God, how he missed that woman. The closer it got to her wrapping up her testimony against Senator William Hutton, and finally being released from protective custody, the more Ben grew antsy.
She was probably in court now. Was she nervous? He had wanted to be there, to support her. But she loved Mason and had insisted that one of them be at his wedding. Since she had other obligations she couldn’t get out of…she made him promise he would represent both of them.
Ever since she had discovered that Hutton’s charitable foundation had been a front for money laundering to fund the RRA, Ben, Mason, and Lance had been there to protect her. Mason and Lance had been the ones to care for her while Ben was recovering from a gunshot wound he received rescuing Mia from being beaten to death in an RRA compound in Colombia.
Mason barely waited for the officiant to announce he could kiss the bride before wrapping Jess up in a tight embrace and kissing her deeply. The room filled with hoots and howls of support, and a few playful admonitions of “get a room.”
Ben’s phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out, hoping it was a phone call from Mia. Instead the Newport office number lit up the screen.
“Wells,” he said as he answered the call.
“Humps,” Ryan Flaherty greeted him using Ben’s call sign. Flaherty was Riley’s computer specialist and one of two assistants she had.
But what the hell was he calling Ben for? Was he trying to get Lance or Riley?
“I thought you’d want to know as soon as possible—there was an active shooter at the federal courthouse in DC.”
Ben’s scalp prickled. He stood and walked to the back of the room, his emotions heightened. Mia’s fine…there’s nothing wrong.
Ben closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. “Where?”
“Inside the courtroom where Hutton’s trial is being heard.”
The one where Mia was supposed to be testifying at that moment. A chill moved down his spine and intensified the quiver in his gut.
“There were apparently at least four men with guns. No one knows for sure how they got in with weapons, but all indications are that it was an inside job.”
Cold fear washed over Ben. “Mia?”
“I can’t get confirmation on her whereabouts, but everyone has been cleared from the courthouse and the wounded taken to the hospital. I’ve checked her name against the people admitted for treatment. Ben…it’s not looking good.”
Ben cleared his throat, the fireball of fear dropped into his gut. “Maybe she’s still inside the courtroom.”
Flaherty exhaled. “The only ones left in the building are all dead.”

When James let go of her hand he reached for their coffees. “Do you want to ruin this perfect espresso with sugar?”
“Yes, please.” Mila needed a bit of a rush which didn’t include James’s body next to hers, or his hands and fingers, which reminded her of that morning.
James spooned some sugar into her black espresso and stirred it. “Here you go. Butter bomb?” he asked as he shifted the plate with pastries closer to her.
“If I have to.” She licked her lips, her mouth watering just looking at the picture-perfect pastries. Her mind could list a hundred reasons why she shouldn’t, health-conscious as she’d been forced to be. But this… she wasn’t going to resist.
He smiled at her. “You have to. You’re in Paris.”
Caving in, Mila took a bite with a soft moan. “They’re sinful.”
A soft smile tugged at his lips as he gazed at her, but he said nothing as he ate his own. When he tossed his coffee back and put the cup down, he looked at her, serious now. “What do you want for your life, Mila?”
She blinked. As if anybody had ever cared. “I want to see the world, and not only from its rugby stadiums.”
“There’s much more to it, I agree.”
“I want to find my niche in art. I’ve been floundering lately. I need some visual… inspiration, to find my way back to what I love doing.”
“And this is why you are in Paris?”
“The primary reason.”
He hitched his eyebrows. “I see.” A smile sparkled in his eyes. “You want to elaborate on the secondary… and tertiary reasons?”
Heat shot to her cheeks. How did he know? Stacey’s freaking to-do list with losing her virginity the first thing on said list. “Already accomplished.”
He leaned into her, the warmth of his body enveloping hers, making her clench her legs together, overly aware of their thighs that had been rubbing against each other for the past half hour. His lips were at her ear, grazing softly from the top to the soft bud of her earlobe. “I’m glad I could be of service.”
The sensation of his intimate whisper shot to her core, making her innards pool. “Don’t go there,” she murmured. She wanted to sink and hide under the table. Did he think that she’d used him? Had she? The thought was too much, overridden by that very familiar tingling inside her lower belly. There was a buzz in her body that demanded attention—his attention—as a memory or two of that morning flitted in her mind’s eye. There was only one way to switch this feeling off. By giving in to it.
Oh no no no. She shifted in her chair, breaking the connection between their thighs.
He laughed and leaned back, his hands cupped behind his head. Totally relaxed, his gaze rested on her—soft, but containing something she couldn’t place.

Author Bio
I've always been drawn to the magical escape of books and the journeys they take us on without leaving the comfort of home. I’ve been fortunate to have traveled to France, and this book was inspired by a visit to Paris some years ago. We were walking in some narrow alley in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, when I noticed a door with a single plaque with Club PrivĂ© written on it. My imagination got going, and at some point, things got pretty wild. I’ve wanted to write for a long time, but life had plans of its own. I’m grateful to finally have time to write, and love writing contemporary and erotic romance in far-flung settings. Taking readers on a journey of their own with my books is part of the plot. Bon voyage!

USA Today Bestselling author Caitlin Crews discovered her first romance novel at the age of twelve, in a bargain bin at the local five and dime. It involved swashbuckling pirates, grand adventures, a heroine with a mind of her own, and a seriously mouthwatering and masterful hero. The book (the title of which remains lost in the mists of time) made a serious impression. Caitlin was immediately smitten with romances and romance heroes, to the detriment of her middle school social life. And so began her life-long love affair with romance novels, many of which she insists on keeping near her at all times, thus creating a fire hazard of love wherever she lives.
Caitlin has made her home in places as far-flung as York, England and Atlanta, Georgia. She was raised near New York City, and fell in love with London on her first visit when she was a teenager. She has backpacked in Zimbabwe, been on safari in Botswana, and visited tiny villages in Namibia. She has, while visiting the place in question, declared her intention to live in Prague, Dublin, Paris, Athens, Nice, the Greek Islands, Rome, Venice, and/or any of the Hawaiian islands. Writing about exotic places seems like the next best thing to actually moving there.
She currently lives in California with her animator/comic book artist husband and their menagerie of ridiculous animals.
