This is the first book in a new spin off series. Cain is second in command of the Bachelors. Number three wants to move up and the Boss doesn’t want to be bothered by anything. Cain is becoming frustrated with his position in the organization and in life. Then he meets Makaylie. He stops to help her with some car trouble. The two have an instant connection. Once they begin to see each other things become difficult for Cain. Makaylie has no idea what Cain really does for work. The more time Cain spends with Makaylie the less time he spends at work. Which is leading others to wonder what he is doing and who he is spending his time with. Cain being with Makaylie puts her in danger. The people he works with aren’t above hurting woman when needed. Someone will use her against him. Will he keep seeing her or will he push her away? This book ends on a cliff hanger so be prepared for that. Cain is torn between two worlds in this book. Cain lives with a ton of guilt over something that happened in his past. One night changed his whole life. Meeting Makaylie changes it again. If he continues to see her will he be able to protect her from the danger of his world? This book was an awesome read. I can’t wait to read the second book in the duet. This series is a spin off of NOLA Defiance MC. The Bachelors have made appearance in several of their books. I am excited to see where their stories go from here. Fantastic job KE Osborn.
