This is the first book by Megan I have read. While this book
is the sixth book in the series it can be read as a standalone. This book was
an emotional rollercoaster for sure. Parker Ryan believes there is a curse on
the females of his family. He has had his fair share of heart ache related to
women but after the mother of his son dies he vows to himself not to get
involved with another woman again. Seven years later he has not one but two
women who want to be a part of his and his son’s life. Both are women from his
past. One his first love and the other the second woman he ever let into his
life. Can he let himself try again? Can he allow himself to love again? He fears
how he will feel if he loses someone he lets in. It crushed him to lose his
first love. Now he doesn’t only have himself to think of either. Ashton is part
of the it crowd and wants Parker. She gets what she wants. Halliday regrets
leaving the way she did all those years ago. She has come back and wants to try
again. If she can’t something more with Parker she will take friendship. They
have both changed so much in those twelve years. Can they find a way back to
each other. Will Parker’s fear keep him from ever finding a happy ever after
with anyone? I felt for Halliday and Parker. I didn’t like Ashton at all.
Parker and Halliday were always meant to be together. They needed that time apart
though to grow and experiences things so they could be together later. While I
haven’t read any of the other books in this series I can’t wait to after
reading this book. I have put them on my tbr list. I can’t say enough about
this book. I highly recommend it.
