This book is part of the Happily Ever Alpha World. I have only read one other book in the world. This is a swift family crossover. I haven’t read this series by Leslie. This book is definitely a slow burn. Maxen is only in town to take care of his sister and nephew after his sister was in a car accident. Dominique is a local vet. The two meet when Maxen comes to pick up the remains of the family pet. There is an instant attraction between the two. Both have baggage as any adult does. With Maxen here only for a short time should they try to have any sort of relationship? There is more to think about than just what they want for feel. Dominique has a son and Maxen has a thriving business back home. The characters in this book were wonderful. While the circumstances Maxen and Dominique meet under aren’t happy ones doesn’t mean that something good can’t come of them. I enjoyed this book. Great job Leslie.
