This is the twelfth book in this series. I haven’t read all of them just a few. However I have read a lot of Deanndra’s books and love them all. Flora is on the run from her abusive husband. She has gotten as far as she can on what little money she had. She has managed to land in a place that is willing to help her. Barrett is a fish and wildlife officer with an interesting past. He meets Flora while mowing the elderly neighbor’s yard. There is just something about her. He knows she is hiding something or from someone. Little does Barrett know that Flora is in something much deeper than he knows. Flora knows her ex won’t give up so easily. She knows something he can’t let anyone find out about. Flora and Barrett hit off quickly. Barrett knows that he will have to take is slow with Flora but he lets her know how he feels about her as well. I like this book. While it wasn’t my favorite, I did enjoy it. Flora and Barrett are great characters. I love Mrs. Murphy Flora’s employer and Barrett’s neighbor. She is crazy and doesn’t care what anyone thinks. She is a great old gal. This was a great read and I look forward to reading the next book in the series. Great job Deanndra.
