The last place Pia wants to be is on a family vacation in a sleepy Cornish village. She's anticipating two weeks of mind-numbing boredom. Then she meets Trey, a local boy. He's absolutely gorgeous. The trouble is — he knows it. He's arrogant and egotistical, and Pia intends to avoid him at all costs. But Trey is not the kind of guy who gives up easily. When he sets his sights on Pia, her resistance is futile. It's just a holiday romance, some light-hearted fun, right? But one of them is about to discover that still waters do, indeed, run deep. When what lurks beneath the surface finally erupts, the consequences may prove to be catastrophic.

Pia is forced to go on a family vacation to a sleepy Cornish
village. She would rather be at home
preparing for Uni and hanging out with her friend Fay. While out try to find some she runs into a
guy and he lets her know the only place she will find any is on top the
hill. She is quite sure about this guy
after she is out by herself at night.
The next she runs into him while she is trying to relax and read on the
beach. She is annoyed and decides to go home.
When she gets back and rings for her mum to let her in her mum invites
him to go the theme park with them. This
just frustrates Pia more, because he accepts of course. She decides to play a joke when her parents
ask his name. She tells them his name is
Ima Jerk. But, he just goes along with
it. He is determined. She agrees to go on the date with him when
they get back from the theme park. He
takes her to his house, at first she is kind of annoyed but then he cooks her a
wonderful meal from scratch. She finds it
romantic not one has ever cooked for her besides her mom. She agrees to meet him at the beach the next morning
very early to watch the sun rise. He
wants to see her later after her day with her family but she isn’t sure. Her family gets back early and they play a
board game that she winds up being out of early on. She decides to go see Trey after all. When she gets there he doesn’t seem excited
to see her and she can hear a women’s voice inside. He tells her that his mom has a friend over
and they wouldn’t have privacy. She
leaves and decides to call Fay to get her opinion. The next day she goes out with her family
again. When they get back Trey has left
a gift for her and a note apologizing for the day before, and letting her know
he will be home all night. She decides
to go see him. Pia learns that Trey’s
brother died and some other things. The
next day her family invites him to have dinner with them at the pub. She asks Trey and he says he can’t. She figures that he isn’t interested in
anything serious with her. While she is
trying to run away he catches her and lets her know otherwise but he can’t
cause his mum is sick and he can’t leave her.
Trey has things he is dealing with and Pia is afraid of getting
hurt. She never expected to find someone
like Trey when she went on vacation with her parents. Trey has feeling for her as well but his life
is complicated. Will they get a chance
or was it doomed from the start?
I enjoyed this book.
Pia tried everything to get out the vacation with her family only to
find Trey when she got there. Pia lives
a fairly simply life, no complications really.
Besides trying to get a boy she fancies to go on a date with her. Trey however has had to deal with quite a bit
in his short life. His brother died, his
parents are divorced, and his mother isn’t well. He finds himself lost. When he meets Pia he wants more but can he
have it. How does he explain everything
to her? Does she want more from him or
is this just some vacation fling to her.
There are some misunderstandings between them because of this. Neither one wants to say too much for fear
the other one doesn’t want that much and won’t want anything to do with them
anymore. I must say I didn’t see Trey
character being everything he is when I read the synopsis for the book. I really felt for him and everything he was
through in the past as well as what he went through in the book. His character has a lot of depth to him. I don’t want to give anything away but this
is a great book. There really is a lot
to Trey. You should really read this book.
She's a self-published author who loves to
write new adult romance about heroes who begin as the underdog and are
protective of their girl.
She's an avid reader of romance, is
addicted to coffee and loves wine and chocolate, so yeah, not the most
healthy
eating and drinking habits :-) She spends way too much time online when
she
should be writing. She collects teddy bears and occasionally knits a
couple of
rows on a sweater she started years ago, which she may eventually
finish in
time to wear for her funeral :-)
