Four years ago losing the love of my life almost destroyed me.

Years of being labeled and looked upon with disdain by everyone in my hometown almost wrecked me.

Four years ago I became a mother and together we were enough...Until I met him.

He wanted to rebuild my broken–I just didn’t know how to let him.

This is my story of how one man’s love changed everything I thought I knew about life, love and myself.

But in the end, can Levi Eddison prove to be my restoration?
Levi
Everything in my world changed the day Braunwyn Daniels walked into my pub.

She was a woman of many contradictions. I recognized the happiness and sorrow each fighting its way to the surface from deep within.

I was drawn to her immediately.

Behind her long legs, chestnut brown hair and beautiful eyes laid a damaged soul.

I needed to change that–I just didn’t know how.

This is my story of how I met a broken girl and vowed to make her whole.

And in the end, it turns out I knew nothing about true happiness until Braunwyn Daniels let me love her.

Note from the Author
Dear Reader,
Mental illness is a growing concern in our world today. On the Rocks is about surviving the aftermath of suicide, and believing in love again. Levi and Braunwyn’s love story is inspired by events that impacted the lives of people I care about deeply. With all of the research and ongoing concerns with mental health, I’ve decided to try and do something to bring awareness and light to this growing concern. I will be donating 10% of all pre-order and release week profits to Canadian Mental Health Association.

My Review
This book is fantastic.  It is the second book in the series however you don’t need to read book 1 first to understand what is going on; and I haven’t read it.  Braunwyn has been through so much.  4 years ago the love of her life took his own life and left her a letter about how he wanted her to move on a find someone better for her.  How when the time was right he would send her Knight to her.  Now in her last year of college she is finally ready to start the moving on process.  She wants to be a social worker and needs to have some social experience to do that.  The last 4 years she has been focused on school and her daughter.  She applies for a job at Pub Fiction with absolutely no work experience and granted an interview.  Levi owns Pub Fiction; she is his lady, baby, and his whole world basically.  Levi has no desire to be in a relationship right now.  He enjoys the perks of owning a bar; there are always willing women around and he explains that it is a not strings attached thing he wants.  Then everything changes the day he meets Braun; he was expecting a guy based on the resume but he isn’t disappointed.  There is just something about her that makes him want to get to know her more.  He gives her a job and hopes this will help him get to know her more.  Braun is attracted to Levi is scared of the way he makes her feel.  Part of her wants to move forward and another part feels guilty because of her ex Shawn.  Then when Levi starts letting her know he would like them to be something even if starts out as friends her emotions are all over the place.  Levi is willing to be friends and take it at Braun’s pace.  He will take any time he can get with her in any way he can.  Then he learns that she has a daughter and finds that nothing really changes about the way he feels and that in fact he immediately starts to feel strongly for her daughter Emme.  Will Braun take a chance on Levi?  Will Levi still want her when he learns how broken she is?  I can’t say enough about this book and how great it is.  Braun is an amazingly women.  She has been through so much most of it happened all around the same time.  She is a wonderful mother and women.  Her grandmother and friends are great as well.   Levi is so great.  He seems to know just what to say and do every time Braun gets nervous or her past starts to creep into their present.  He knows that there are things she isn’t telling her but he doesn’t pressure her to share them.  He knows she is worth the wait.  All the characters in the book/series are great and I can’t wait to read more about them.  I haven’t read the first book in this series however it is now on my tbr list.  This the first book by Gillian that I have read but I definitely be reading more by her in the future.  This book is a must read.
