One accident - a freaking car crash.
That’s all it took to send my brother’s and my life into a tailspin with no end in sight. I was going to be something. I was going to be the best. I had the Olympics in my sights. And it all went to shit in one flash. Brayden wasn’t ready to raise a younger sister when I was thrown into his lap. He had his life and everything going for him. Thankfully, he was still drafted to his dream hockey team. The same one dad played for when we were growing up.
It took time, but I started to get better, started to open up, started skating and even dating again. I even thought I found the perfect guy for me.
Isn’t it funny how guys hit on you when they know you’re not available, but when you’re single they won’t give you the freaking time of day? I guess the game is more fun that way. And for the captain of my brother’s team, that’s exactly what I was. A hat trick is three goals in hockey. Some say three is a crowd and they might be right.
I was Gavin Hayes' unobtainable goal.

I love Kristen and was excited to read this book.  I wasn’t disappointed.  Myla’s whole life was changed by a car accident.  She was on her way to the Olympics as a figure skater.  The car accident changed everything; she is lucky to be alive now.  Myla’s brother Brayden is all she has now and he is happy to help her recover.  Myla is happy that her accident didn’t derail her brother Brayden’s dreams as well.  He is still drafted to his dream hockey team.  Myla works on getting back to her old self and well as finding a new dream in this book.  Brayden begins to play for his dream hockey team.  It isn’t all sunshine and roses though.  The coach’s son Gavin and Brayden butt heads often.  Their father’s had a rivalry that has boiled over to the boys.  Gavin is a bit of a player.  That is until he sees Myla one night while she is on a date with another guy.  He has meet her once before but didn’t really look.  Now that he has he wants her for himself.  Will he get what he wants?  Myla is a bit naïve.  She never really dated before her accident.  There is something about Myla that calls to Gavin.  He wants more than one night with her, more than just sex.  How will Brayden feel about Gavin going after his little sister?  This book was a great read.  It was funny, romantic, and a bit emotional at times.  It showed at times that not everything it what it seems.  I felt for Gavin at times.  For the way his family treats him and what they expect of him.  Myla and Brayden only have each other and they would do anything for each other.  Myla is funny and spunky.  She isn’t afraid to say what she is thinking.  This isn’t an instalove book but one that takes place over time.  I would love to read more about these characters.  Maybe one about Brayden and his love interest.  Maybe about some of the other players on the team or Gavin’s friends that are mentioned in the book.  Another great job Kristen can’t wait for more.
