MY REVIEW
This is the third book in this series however it can be read
as a standalone. I haven’t read the
first two and wasn’t confused or lost at all.
This is the first book I have read by Annika and loved it. I have added the first two books to my TBR
list already. This book has romance,
danger, hot alpha males, and more. Ann
is undercover in a mental institution as a nurse trying to get back her career
one story at a time. She had something
of a break and lost everything. She
quickly finds another story and something she wasn’t expecting, a connection
with one of the patients. He is heavily
drugged yet seems to be completely there.
While he pretends to be out of it she can sense he is totally there mentally. Kiro is a savage and doesn’t even know his
real name just the name he was called in his foster home. He has always been different and been called
savage his whole life. There is
something about Nurse Ann, something that calls to something deep inside him. He will protect her at all costs. Kiro is like no man Ann has ever met and as
much as he sometimes scares her he also makes her feel like no one else
has. She wants to help him but will she
be able to? There is definitely
something up with him and why he is there.
The deeper Ann digs the more confusing things get and the more she
begins to care for Kiro. Will everything
work out or will the dangers be too much to face? I can’t say enough about this book. It pulled me in from the beginning. Kiro is so different from anything I have
read before. He is savage yet
gentle. He so desperately wants to be
part of a family to not be lonely anymore.
He just wants to be accepted for who he is not used or studied. Ann went through something traumatic and it
affected her when she least expected it to.
It is still affecting her and she is trying to work through it. It surprises her when Kiro starts helping her
when she is trying to help him. I don’t
want to give any spoilers away and I’m afraid I will so I’m going to stop. Annika is a fantastic author and I can’t wait
to read more of her books.
