This is the second book in the series and I recommend
reading them in order. Mayhem has only ever loved one woman, Effiemia. To bad
he can only seem to push her away and hurt her. Effie has loved Mayhem for so
long but maybe its time to let him go. This book goes back before the first one
started and then runs parallel the story line from the first book. Effie is
mentioned several times in the first book as well. You learn all about Mayhem
and Effie’s story. Sometimes love hurts as is the case in this book. Sometimes
we love someone so much that we hurt them while trying to protect them. There
is more going on than either of them knows. Turns out that by pushing her away
to save her Mayhem may have actually put her in more danger than just keeping
her close. This book was even better than the first book. This book I think is
more emotional. I am loving this series and I can’t wait for the next one. They
are all interconnected so far by the couples. Fantastic job Brooke.
