EXCERPT:
His hand caressed my cheek while his gaze flickered between my eyes and my lips. My heart fluttered as it drummed an anxiously hopeful beat. What was happening between us was inevitable, and there was no stopping the inevitable. Our breath intertwined just as his lips brushed against mine. My body almost lost all will to function as it hummed with need. His eyes found mine again as if seeking permission to continue. I wasn’t about to stop him. He leaned into me once again. I responded with a passion, a hunger.
My arms wrapped around his neck, dropping the bottles of beer onto the rug-covered floor. He pulled me flush against his body, and my fingers instinctively laced through his brown hair. My tongue swept against his lower lip; his gently massaged mine. The arms that wrapped around me engulfed me in a heaven that I never wanted to leave. My inner desires pooled within as a moan rose up, but I didn’t know if it came from him or me.
As much as I didn’t want to, I broke the kiss, and as we both inhaled deeply, he rested his forehead against mine and whispered, “Did you feel that?”
My body strummed with desire as my heart thumped an erratic beat. I exhaled slowly as my eyes remained closed, and I whispered, “Yes.”

MY REVIEW:

Jordan had just finished her masters and was heading home to surprise her fiancé a day early.  She knew Ryan loved structure and routine so she didn’t use the key to what was going to be her apartment.  Instead she knocked, and then knocked again.  Then she decided to use her key.  Hearing the showering running she instantly thought of what he looked like naked in the shower and started that way.  Only when she got there she didn’t find him alone.  She was shocked and that’s when the trouble began.  He tried to stop her from leaving by grabbing her arms so hard he left deep bruise that would take weeks to go away.  When she finally managed to get out of his grasp and getaway she was horrified.  She spent the summer wallowing away in her childhood bedroom.  Ryan constantly called and texted her.  She asked him several times to stop calling and texted he just kept doing it.  She then went to stay with her friend Katherine.  Katherine left her friend to feel sorry for herself for a couple more days and then decided she needed a dose of tough love.  This helped Jordan.  They went out for a girl’s night that didn’t end well.  Ryan managed to find her at the club.  This lead Jordan to decide to leave the city to get away from Ryan and try to start over.  She gave up her job at a great college to take one at a community college.  After just one day there she has an embarrassing incident with the Inn owner’s nephew who came to fix the leak in her room.  Upon seeing her in the tub Tom saw her and felt something he hadn’t felt for any women before.  He was instantly taken with her.  This one incident lead to the start of their wonderful journey.  How long will it take for Ryan to find her?  Will Jordan be able to love again after what Ryan did to her?  Will Tom be able to break down all the walls Jordan has built around herself?  I really loved this book.  Ryan was totally bat shit crazy.  Sure he loved Jordan in his own crazy way but not in a healthy way.  Jordan and Tom has an instant connection.  They were drawn together by a magnet force.  Jordan was constantly worried if she should follow her heart or listen to her head.  Worry if it was all happening to fast, if it was to go to be true.  Tom was instantly taken with her.  In the past he normally didn’t do relationships, but there was something different about Jordan.  He felt things he had never felt before about a woman.  He just wanted to protect and love her forever.  I look forward to reading more of Jaycee Ford’s books.
