I loved this book so much. I am impatiently awaiting the release of the second book already. This book was heart breaking at times. Colt and Averi have both lost people they love because of Black Horse and he isn't finished with them yet. Colt has been through more than Averi. His own father has taken almost every mother he has had his entire life. He killed his biological mother and then almost everyone who has tried to fill that role for him. Colt and Averi have loved each other almost their entire lives. Colt would walk through the fires of hell for her. Now his father is back to try once again to destroy Colt's happiness. Black Horse also killed Averi's parents and one of her brothers. All she has left is Colt and her two other brothers. Colt and her brothers have not always gotten along because of who his father is. That fact has never once mattered to Averi though. He is not his father nor is her responsible for what his father has done. Averi wants so much for her brothers to see it that same way. They have had to keep their relationship somewhat of a secret because Averi couldn't live without any of them. Will they be able to survive what Black Horse has in store for them? Will Averi's brothers finally see Colt the way see does?
This book was fantastic. I wanted to cry for Colt and all he has been through. Averi is all he has left in this world and he will not lose her to anyone or anything. Averi is tough and loyal. She isn't one to just stand by and let others fight her battles for her. Her brothers and great characters as well. No one means more to them than her. Her best friend Shelly is funny and crazy. I loved all the characters in this book and can't wait to read more about them in the next book. This book has some twists and turns that were good. There were secrets that the characters had no idea about and it was interesting reading as they figured things out. This book was wonderfully written with engaging characters that pulled you into. I couldn't put this book down. I found another author to follow and look forward to reading more books by Addison Kline in the future.
