My Review
I liked this book but it was frustrating. Every time I felt like I got answer to a question I had I felt like I have 10 more questions. Don't get me wrong the book pulled me in. I kept reading because I wanted answers. The characters are engaging and the writing is great. Mason has been through so much with the death of his sister and helping to raise his niece. It kills him that he doesn't have answers about her death. Brie is in what seems like a loveless marriage. She gives her everything to James and he doesn't seem to give her anything. He is always busy with work and even when they do spend time together he just seems to want her for sex. He takes no real interest in her life. James has worked himself into one hell of a situation. He is telling Brie lies left and right. Plus he has a women at work making it obvious she is willing to sleep with him even know he is married. Over all I felt the worst for Brie. She is attracted to Mason and has all this guilt for it. She doesn't do anything with him and is getting the shaft in her marriage. All she wants is a baby and that is denied to her, while her husband does whatever he wants. I wanted to jump in the book and smack James around a bit for the way he treat Brie. I also wanted to shake Brie and make her stop second guessing herself. She gives into James to easily. I understand that she loves him and everything but at some point you have to worry about yourself instead of the other person. You have to love yourself more. The book ends on a cliffhanger so I am impatiently awaiting the release of the next book. I look forward to reading other books by Antoinette.
Antoinette Candela is most likely listening to music at a very high volume right now and pondering her next book. She grew up in Upstate New York and is an avid New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan. As a child, she enjoyed reading and writing and penned her first story at the age of thirteen. She drives fast, is a neat freak, loves red wine, Scrabble and can't live without her iced coffee and a good pen. Currently she lives in Massachusetts with her son and daughter in her neat and tidy home. When she's not planted in front of her computer writing, she can be found at the gym or at the beach soaking up the rays and enjoying a good book.
