I am always eager to read any book by Laramie. Her characters are great and the plot pulls
me in keeping me hooked. This book was
no different. Whitney was in a horrible
marriage. No one really knew how bad it
was for her. Now she is divorced. One night she is at a bar drinking and her
little brother’s best friend, Ryan comes over to her. Maybe it’s the wine or maybe she is just
tired of denying herself but she tells Ryan that she wants him to f*ck her and
how. Ryan has always wanted Whitney and
he isn’t going to miss out on his chance with her even if it is only for one
night. Then something Whitney never
expected happened happens. She finds out
she is pregnant; with Ryan’s baby. Ryan
sees this as his chance to be Whitney.
He will be part of his child’s life and he wants to be a part of Whitney’s
as well. He will prove to her that he
will be there for her. There she can be
strong and independent and still rely on him when she needs to. He will show her that he isn’t going anywhere
and doesn’t want her stop living. He wants
to live with her and experience things with her. I felt for Whitney. She was in a horrible marriage. Now that she is pregnant something she has
always wanted and could be with Ryan and man who worships her she still can’t
just be. She is worried about how her
brother will react when he finds out.
She worries that she is ten years older than Ryan. Ryan will do anything to prove to Whitney how
much he wants to be with her. However a
man can only take so much when what he wants most is at his fingertips. Whitney may need that push from Ryan to take
that next step, to be able to let herself take that next step. This book has romance, angst, and more. I look forward to reading more books in this
series and finding out what happens next.
