This is the first book I have read by Jami and I absolutely loved it. Jami writes a story that makes your heart and chest hurt. She tugs your heart strings and makes you feel for the characters. Martin (Brick) is a playboy hockey player and loves his life the way it is. Then one his life is turned upside down when a little girl rings his doorbell and informs him that his is her father. Amelia juggles a full-time college class load with working at her sister-in-law’s daycare center. She is broke and lives in her brother’s basement. When Brick comes into the daycare looking for help with his maybe daughter and offers Amelia a ton of money to be his short-term nanny is can’t turn down the offer. Brick wants more from Amelia than just for her to be his nanny. Brick always gets what he wants and he wants Amelia. Amelia has learned her lesson about hot guys and won’t be taken twice. Only she can’t not get attached to Brick’s little girl Macy. The more time she spends with her the more she cares for the little girl. The more she wants to know the real story about how Macy came to live with Brick. Brick doesn’t want his life to change but couldn’t it with these two women in his life now. These women worm their way under Brick’s skin and into his heart. Brick is so much more than he allows himself to believe he is. This book gave me the feels so many times. I can’t wait to read other books in this series. Jami you are a fantastic author and I can’t wait to read more books by you. I can’t say enough about this book and I have already purchased the first book in this series to read next.
