My Review
This is the forth book in this series but they can all be
read as standalones. Carson is in a difficult situation. He has inherited his
biological father’s candy company however he needs money to keep it going for
right now. He goes to a rival for a loan but that loan comes with strings
attached. He has to marry the man’s daughter who he has nothing in common with
and sign some of his company over to the man. Two weeks before he is due to say
I do he tells his rival that is in love with someone else. His rival calls his
bluff and asks to meet the woman Carson is in love with. Now Carson must find a
woman to play along. Ella Hope is an actress and meet Carson six months ago at
a party while on a date with Carson’s friend. She needs the rent money so when
Carson calls and asks her to help him out she agrees. Neither of them expected
to actually have feelings for each other. Things get interesting rather quickly
after Ella arrives. They realize that they could really have something together
but with Carson’s investor breathing down their necks what can they do? I
really loved this book. Carson and Ella are great characters but in an
interesting situation. They hit it off right away and its more than lust.
Kendra the girl Carson is supposed to marry has a few tricks up her own sleeve
when it comes to her father. She is also put in a difficult situation when it
comes to her father and Carson. I am loving this series overall and I really
like all these different authors coming together to write these books. I love
all the twists and turns in this book. I can’t wait to read the next book in
this series.
Meet the Author
Raised an only child, Shayla occupied herself with lots of daydreaming, much to the chagrin of her teachers. In college, she found her love for reading and realized that she could have a career publishing the stories spinning in her imagination. Though she graduated with a degree in Marketing/Advertising and embarked on a stint in corporate America to pay the bills, her heart has always been with her characters. She’s thrilled that she’s been living her dream as a full-time author for the past eight years.
Shayla currently lives in North Texas with her wonderfully supportive husband, her teenage daughter, and two spoiled tabbies. In her “free” time, she enjoys reality TV, reading, and listening to an eclectic blend of music.
