GAGE
One night
with Carly in my arms shouldn’t change anything.
I’m not
looking for a girlfriend.
I’ve
already got enough female drama in my life.
Between my
crazy mother and unsettled sister, I’m fully loaded.
Why then
can’t I get the image of Carly’s long legs out of my head?
Why can’t I
stop imagining how they’d feel wrapped around my waist.
It’s a good
thing she’s not interested.
Either am
I.
Am I?
CARLY
It was an
innocent New Year’s kiss.
It was
nothing. Just a dare from his little sister.
Why then,
can’t I get him out of my head.
Why can I
still feel and taste his lips on mine.
I want
more. Much more.
But I don’t
want to want more.
I don’t
have time for more. There’s no room in my life for more.
There’s
certainly no room in my life for a man like Gage McIntyre.
Is there?

My Review
This is the second book in this series. It focuses on Gage
McIntyre and Carly, Payton’s best friend. Just like I suspected the family
story line continues through this book. Gage can’t get Carly out of his head
after just one kiss and night spent spooning on an air mattress. Gage is
dealing with his crazy mother and caring for his sister who seems distressed
but is unwilling to talk about why. Carly is sort of starting over again as
well, like Payton from the first book. She came to town because of Payton but
is staying because she finds a sort of peace there. Carly hasn’t ever really
gotten along with her family but after what her brother did to Payton things
are worse than ever between her and her family. I liked this book a little more
than the first one. The main story is established already. Gage and Carly are
different as well. Carly is more confident and doesn’t really care about how
others see her besides her family. Gage doesn’t really worry about much. He
wants his Mom to figure her crap out and wants his sister to tell him what is
wrong. But, other than that he is pretty go with the flow. You read a fair
amount about the sister in this book as well. It sets up the next book which is
hers. I look forward to seeing where the story goes next in the next book.
Author Bio
I’m just me. A clumsy, introverted, bubble bath loving, chocoholic who would rather read a book than go shopping. And god forbid if you try and make me shoe shop!
I’m one of four kids to school teacher parents. A wife to a football obsessed husband. Mother to a fur-baby who isn’t aware of how big he is. Aunt to the most crazy/adorable little girls. And sister to two very determined sisters and one easy going brother.
I live in Canberra Australia and work too many hours a day at my day job.
