This is the second book in the series. They can be read as standalone book though. I haven’t read the first one and wasn’t confused. Eve owns her own fixer upper and is almost done with college. She has a plan for her life. It does not include a man at this time. The only man she has room for in her life is her cat Thor. Then she meets Brent. He comes to the rescue when Thor gets stuck in a wall. Brent just happens to look just like the demigod Thor. Eve is determined to not turn out like her mother and sister. But just because she doesn’t want to turn out like them doesn’t mean that she can’t have a relationship at all. Brent wants Eve right away. Both have some baggage. Can they find a way to have a relationship or will that baggage stop them? This book is a fantastic read. I laughed so much while reading it. That being said I also felt for Eve. She is so scared of losing herself and what she wants if she starts a relationship. Brent is dealing with his father’s illness and baggage from an ex. I look forward to reading the first book in the series as well as other books that come out in the future. Fantastic job Elizabeth.
