This is the sixth book in this series. They are better read in order. Shadow and Serenity had one night together. Serenity was sure that this would lead to more but it didn’t. Now five years later things are about to change. Serenity is attacked by people who want money from her ex. This in the thing that changes things from Shadow. It wasn’t that he didn’t want everything with Serenity but that he felt she deserved someone better than him. He isn’t going to waste this second chance. Will the Fury Vipers be able to figure out who is after Serenity and protect her. I am loving this series more and more with each book. I can’t get enough of the characters in this series. The woman is this series are so powerful and strong. These men will do anything to protect them but they don’t stunt them either. The work side by side. I can’t recommend this series enough. Wonderful job Brooke.

This is the third book in the series. They can be read as standalone books. Each couple lives in Willow Valley and so far, they seem like second chance romances. Peggy joins a army pen pal program. She was nervous about it in the beginning. Ethan encouraged his troops to join and then joined the pen pal program as well. He wasn’t sure what to expect. The two have a lot in common. Things get even better when he learns that Peggy lives in the same town as his daughter who he is trying to reconnect with. Both are widowers. Peggy still isn’t over her husband’s death and feel a lot of guilt about it. Ethan is understanding but wants to help her move forward. The two have a fair number of bumps in the road. Will Peggy be able to let go of her guilt and find a way to move forward? Ethan is figuring out what he wants now that he is retired from the military. This book was a great read. I really enjoyed it. The characters from previous book do appear in the following books. Great job S.L. Sterling.
