This is only the second book I have read by Samantha. Star Shine Meadows lives a simple life. She works what some may consider unconventional jobs. Rafe is a bit of a grump. Rafe is being hounded by his mother and SIL to find someone to settle down with. Star and Rafe meet while she is working as Merida and Rafe’s niece’s birthday party, then again while she is line sitting. He offers her a proposition and being his fake girlfriend for six months to get his mom and SIL off his back. Things are strained at first. Rafe comes from money but doesn’t rely on it. Star comes from hippy parents. Both are shaped by their parents. Star was attracted to Rafe right from the start. I think Rafe was as well. But, he has issues holding him back. Star helps Rafe is ways he didn’t even know he needed help with. She helps him see things differently. Rafe forces Star to see things differently as well. She being to face how she feels about her childhood. But, will this pull her closer to Rafe or push her further away? I loved book right from the start. Star and Rafe are really perfect together. Outside forces try their best to force them apart. Even Star for a bit. The ways they help each other are amazing. I loved this story so much. I would love to read more about these characters in another book. Especially Rafe’s brother and SIL. Fantastic job Samantha. I look forward to reading more books by Samantha.
