My Review of That Which Destroys Me by Kimber S. Dawn.

That Which Destroys MeThat Which Destroys Me by Kimber S. Dawn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is a girl named Stella and man named Wesley. Stella had a horrible childhood. She was raped by her father, a foster father, another foster father, and then a foster brother. Finally she just ran away. She has no interest in any man beyond kissing. The only part of her degree she has left is the intern part and the only place that has an intern position available she refuses to work at. She finally decides she will go in there and do what she needs to do. Wes be damn. Wesley Jacobs is a powerful man who likes to be in charges in all aspects of his life. He is also a Dom., he has be vanilla sex and is starved to the kind of sex he really wants. From the minute Stella walks into his office he wants her. Wes goes to a place called Chained a bdsm club. While he is there Stella comes in with some friends. He can’t believe she is there. She is definitely not part of the lifestyle, at least not yet. He meets the 3 subs the club has waiting for him and none of them as what he wants. He realizes what or who he wants is down stairs, Stella. So he goes down and asks her to leave and go back to his apartment with him. She goes but she isn’t sure why. When they get back to his apartment he lets her know the he wants her to be with him as his sub. Then he will push her boundaries and break her. She tells him she doesn’t break for anyone. When she gets to work on Monday is a little awkward. They go over what they need to and then he asks her to dinner on Saturday she agrees as long as its just dinner. The week flies by and before she knows it its Friday. They wind up working late on a client that has been given to her. They wind up having a late dinner. At dinner they talk more about what is happening between them. They do some steamy things at the table. Stella agrees to try to be his sub. The next while they are at dinner he asks her to stay the night with him. They have a wonderful evening. The next morning there is a misunderstanding. He asks her something and takes it as him wanting her to leave. She drinks her coffee and goes home leaving Wes very confused. They can only thing of each other for the rest of the weekend. The next day Stella is worried about what is going to happen at work When she gets there Rachel just about runs into her coming out of Wes’s office trying to fix her smeared lipstick. They have words and then she goes into see Wes. What the hell? Did what they started mean anything or was it a one time thing? Does she want more, does he want more?

I really liked this book. She went through so much in her childhood. She is finally able to try something different with Wes. After they play a little she realizes that it is helping her and that she actually does like it. Wes has never seen himself as someone who could be in a long term relationship. But there is something about Stella that makes him feel things he has never felt for a woman before. The story is an emotional roller coaster. I never saw the ending coming and I was totally wrecked by it. I cried ugly tears so be prepared and have some tissues on hand. You know something is going to happen from other things in the book but I thought it would be anything like what happened. This book is fantastic and a must read. I will be looking for other books from this author.

I was given this book as a gift in return for an honest review.
