This book is about a girl named Melissa and a guy she meets
named Derek. Melissa is currently trying
to get away from a horrible husband. She
takes a spa week vacation with her friend Elaine. The timing is perfect she just filed for
divorce so she will be away when he is served with the papers. Her first night there she meets a man at the
bar. She thinks it’s kinda odd that he
choose her over all the skinny pretty girls.
Derek comes and introduces himself.
They talk for a bit then he asks her to let him show her the desert
sky. She goes with him. She has decided that she is going to forget
the past year while she is here for the week.
They have a steamy encounter while they are out on the patio. He tells her that he will be at the bar every
night waiting for her. She didn’t go to
the bar the next night. The third day
they are there they run into another guy while they were getting lunch in the
main part of the hotel. He invited them
to have dinner with him and his partner.
Elaine agreed for her and Melissa.
When they showed up for dinner can you guess who the guys partner
was. After a short time Melissa said she
wasn’t feeling well and left the table.
Derek followed her. He pulled her
into the family restroom where after just a few sentences they had another
steamy moment. The next day he met her
at the pool in the after noon. After a little while they went to her room
where they had a very fun afternoon and evening. Melissa was starting to have feeling for
him. They met Elaine and Patrick for
dinner that evening. After dinner they
went for a walk and talked some more and then she told him that if things were
different she would tell him she love him right then. The next morning there was a note slipped
under the door for her to call the front desk something was left for. She did and they brought it up to her
room. When she opened it there was a
chain with a floating heart on it. There
was also a note that said what I would give you, if you hadn’t already stolen
it from Derek. He called and asked her
to spend the day with him. They met at
the pool but didn’t stay long before going to his room. Melissa has decided she is putting her plan
into motion when she gets back. They
spend all day in his room. They are
really falling for each other. Derek
walks her back to her room the next morning.
He tells her that what he wrote in the note is true and that he will
take her call when ever. Will they try
to be together after Melissa does what she needs to? Will Melissa’s husband just let her walk
away?
I loved this book right from the beginning. Melissa is in a horrible marriage to a
horrible man. In the beginning of the
book you just know that her husband has done something to her but you don’t
know what. The second half of the book
is heartbreaking. Just when she thinks
her life is turning around she finds out something there makes it explode
again. Derek is such a great caring
man. He has been through his fair share
of things himself. It’s heartbreaking
for him as well in the second half, but so worth reading when you get to the
end. I love all the characters in this
book and look forward to hopefully finding out more about Elaine and Patrick. This book is very well written with fantastic
characters.
