Synopsis:
Discovering a long-kept secret…
Helped by a mysterious stranger…
Sometimes, fate takes you by surprise.
Locating a book in the campus library unexpectedly embarks college sophomore, Hannah McCurry, into a life-altering journey as she stumbles across something
she never expected. A secret not only protected from the world at large, but essentially hidden, specifically, from her.
Joining Hannah, with a secret of his own, is the gloriously handsome librarian, Spencer Rush. Meeting him was fate. Trusting him was a choice. But falling
for him was beyond her control.
Through her life-changing quest, doubts increase while truths of her past are unveiled. Two seemingly unrelated instruments become the keys to unlocking
her future. A book. And a stranger.
Call it FATE. Call it INTENSE. Definitely call it HEAT.
About Elizabeth Wyke
I'm Elizabeth Wyke, author of the new-adult, sci-fi romance novel, Call It Fate.
Though a Colorado native, I've lived most of my life where the wind comes sweeping down the plains, in the great state of Oklahoma. Here I live with a ton
of testosterone… my amazing husband, two incredible sons, and three dogs – two of which are also male, and thus testosterone-driven, as well. Most of my
free time (i.e. after the kids are asleep) is spent replenishing what dwindling estrogen levels remain, by reading and writing sappy love stories.
I discovered my love for creative writing as a teenager, and always dreamed of penning a full-length novel, but honestly never thought I'd really do it.
Then after falling in love with so many indie authors, I thought to myself, "Well if they were brave enough to do it, certainly I can be too, right?" So
in-between my duties as wife and mommy, I took some online writing classes to polish the attempt, and from the very first writing assignment, the idea of
Call It Fate was born. I knew right then I would eventually turn it in to a book. And here we are.
I am currently working on part two of the trilogy... stick around for more news on its production.
I'm a real Facebook junkie, and hope you take a second to like my page over there so we can
connect, and really stay connected long-term. I've said before some of my other "healthy" (ok, maybe not so healthy) addictions are über-sweet coffee
drinks, and all things Maroon 5. But I'm really just a big fan of music in general. It plays a huge role in my writing, and also day-to-day life,
motivating me to kick it in gear and fold some laundry, or clean up the dishes. I've often said, "a workout is only as good as its playlist"...but really,
that could be said for just about everything in my daily life.

My Review
Hannah lost her parents when she was 8 due to a car
accident. She went into foster care till
she found a family that wanted her to stay.
She is now in college. She signed
up for extra credit in one of her classes and the professors told her to look
for a certain book in the library. The
one book changes her whole life. She
finds the book in the library after a small incident with on the student librarians,
named Rush. He tells her she has to take
the book because it was recalled by the publisher. Hannah thinks this is weird and follows
him. He catches her following her and
invites her to coffee saying he took the class last semester and will help her
with her paper. She agrees and finds
herself attracted to him. Rush cooks her
dinner. She manages to get the book back
and then heads home. She is conflicted
about taking the book because she is sure once Rush realizes is that he will
never want to see her again. She has
never felt this way about a boy before.
Will thumbing through the book she finds a picture of her parents in the
book. The caption states that her mom is
an alien and her dad is human. She can’t
believe it and then there is a business card with the professor’s name and on
the back it says we need to talk. Turns
out her professors wrote the book. Rush
comes back later that night when he realizes she took the book. He asks to speak to her and asks her how much
she has had a chance to read. He tells
her he will answer any questions she has if she just goes with him back to his
apartment. She agrees. While at his apartment to finds out the Rush
knew her mother and is an alien as well.
Who know one book could change someone’s life? Will Rush be able to help her figure things
out? What will happen between Rush and
Hannah?
I loved this book. It
was still a romance but so much more. Rush
and Hannah have this instant connection which explained later in the book but
is no less wonderful. Hannah knows she
should be running when she learns all these things but if she runs and ignores
it she will never she Rush again and that alone is enough to make her accept
the things he tells her. The aliens in
this book and very similar to humans.
Hannah and Rush go through so much in this book. He tries to stay away from her but it doesn’t
work she tracks him down and demands to know why he wants her to stay
away. Once he realizes that they can’t
stay away from each other he wants nothing more than to protect her with his
life. This was a fantastic book and I
hope there will be a follow up book to it.
I would love to read more about these characters. Great job Elizabeth.
