Series: Whole Life Series Book 2 -- All books are standalone novels.
~ BLURB ~
This isn’t a self-help book. No, my tale is too desperate to be helpful or even cautionary. This book is the story of how I stopped being plastic and became someone real.
People call me Kitty, and this is my story.
~ SYNOPSIS ~
Katherine “Kitty” Peters is done doing what Daddy says. She wants freedom, and she wants it now. When her father gives her a month to take the life he offers or find her own way, she takes full advantage and makes over her whole life. It doesn’t take long for her heart to take over, making Katherine more vulnerable than ever before. Unfortunate circumstances force her to realize that escaping her father’s reign is harder than she imagined, especially when the tattooed maverick she fell in love with needs her help. Katherine is manipulated into making a deal with the devil and return to her old life only to discover her one-month makeover may have changed her more than she realized.

~ TEASER #1 ~
“You can’t walk around here in nothing but my shirt and expect me to be able to do anything but you.”
~ TEASER #2 ~
“It’s a funny story, really. You see, I met this girl, this beautiful, amazing girl. We spent one month together, a staggering month. Then she left me, broke me. I was going after her. I was ready to board a plane to get my girl back because all I wanted was more months with her.”
~ EXCERPT ~
“Why would you be willing to do this?” he fired my question back at me.
“Because I never had another choice,” I admitted sadly.
“And you’ve accepted that?”
“I’ve accepted that.”
“Then I guess we better get to know each other better.”

My Review:
This is the second book in the series but it can be read as a stand alone. I was worried cause I had not read the first one but I wasn't confused or lost at all. This book is about a girl named Katherine but her parents and pretty much everyone else calls her Kitty and she hates it. Plus all the cat jokes and comments that go with it. Her parents control everything about her life. They have made it so she has to do what they want. Her mother has wanted her to marry a boy named Grant pretty much since she was born. Grant has fallen in love and is going to marry a girl named Eve. While in public Katherine has to act like she is upset about this but really she isn't. She has is happy that Grant has fallen in love, that he will get a chance to be happy in his marriage unlike her parents. Her mother has set her up with a man that would be appropriate for her but that she has no real interest in. After hearing a conversation between the man and her father she has had enough. The man named Edward is a great guy and Katherine likes him as a friend and thats it. Her just wants to marry her off to someone who he thinks is suited to take over his company one day and tells Ward just that. Katherine has had enough. She confronts her father for the first time in her life and her tells she has one month to figure out how to live on her own or conform to the daughter he wants her to be. Katherine is determined to make the most of this month. She meets a man and her local coffee shop named Adam and they start to see each other. Katherine knows she will have to say goodbye to him at the end of the month as her father will never let her go. He will find some way to bring her back into the fold. This is where is story truly begins. Katherine and Adam quickly fall in love but will they get their happily ever after or will her father find someone to destroy her happiness?
I really enjoyed this book. I felt bad for Katherine but at the same time I feel that is was her own fault. I get that she felt it better to never make a fuss about anything her parents wanted her to do. But, had so fought even a little bit a couple times in her younger years she may not have been in the situation she found herself in. She let her parents railroad her, her entire life and now she is paying the ultimate price. Adam was unlike any man Katherine had ever met. She wasn't a virgin but she never really felt any connection to the guys either. Adam makes her feel all kinds of things. He doesn't want her just because of what he would get if he married her. He likes her for her. He doesn't care what see eats, what she wears, or what her job is. He doesn't just want someone who looks nice on his arm and can help in business. He loves her for who she is and nothing more. He introduces her to all kinds of new food she has never been able to cause it might cause her to gain weight. They have fun together and she finally feels connected to someone. I really felt for Katherine and can't imagine what it would have been like to be in her situation. Honestly I would have never let myself get put in that situation. I could never let someone constantly tell me what to do and how to live. Katherine was some happy while she was with Adam and i felt happy for her. The books was very emotional and had twists and turns I didn't expect. While Katherine didn't always get to do what she wanted she found ways to still do somethings. I have a great respect for her for what she was willing to do for Adam even if she didn't get to be with him. I will be reading the first book in this series and looking forward to reading future ones in this series.
