I find the love letters in my new dorm room, left behind by a previous occupant.

They're meant for someone else, but the words speak to me. They slide off the page and wrap themselves around my body, touching me in places I never knew existed.

I'm falling in love with each word, unable to stop myself.

And I don't even know his name.

Until they tell me.

His name is Judson Devereux. They say he’s toxic. Falling for him will be a mistake.

I want to believe them. I want to walk away. But the words refuse to be erased from the invisible parts of me.

I'm hooked on the scent of his poison. It’s bad for me. It could kill me. But I’m in too deep.

*This series contains sexual content, dark themes, and violence that could trigger emotional distress in readers.*

Review

If you don’t like difficult situations ,dark romance, and manipulation this book isn’t for you.  If you like twists and turns and intrigue than this book is for you.  This book was a great read.  It takes you on an emotional journey through Ivy.  Ivy had a very unloving childhood.  Her father loved her but her mother used her to live her dreams.  Now that her father has died she has moved on with her life and is living for the first time.  Doing what she wants instead of what her mother tells her to do or wants her to do.  She finds some letters underneath her bed in her dorm room.  The letters seem so romantic at first and then turn into something else.  Ivy learns who the letters belong to and who wrote them.  A professor was writing to a student.  Ivy is so moved by the letters and can’t help the way they make her feel.  Against the warnings of others she begins writing to the professor and even though he is in jail he begins writing back to her.  He makes Ivy feel for the first time.  He makes her feel special, loved, and so many other things.  Is this a good thing or is he just finding his next victim?  The letters start out nice enough but things don’t stay that way for long.  Judson the professor is not a nice guy.  Sure he is charming and knows what to say and do even from prison however that is only to get what he wants.  Ivy is so vulnerable because of her childhood.  She is searching for love and for someone to be devoted to her.  Judson uses this to pull her in and want him.  I can’t wait to read what happens in the next book.  Great job Dori.
