This is the second book in the series. They can be read as standalone books. Nyla is in the first book but the stories aren’t overly connected. Nyla got divorced two years ago. She is finally ready to move forward and take her life in a simpler, slower direction. She is now Everleigh’s partner. A chance meeting has Nyla beginning a new relationship with a man named Cohen. Then out of the blue Nyla’s ex-husband is in town. For a bachelor weekend with friends then staying on for some classes he is teaching. Things aren’t as they seem. Both men have secrets they are keeping from her. Both want her. What will happen when all the secrets are revealed? This book was slowing moving for me. The characters were good but I had trouble continuing to read it. In the beginning I was pulling for Cohen. After all you get divorced for a reason. But, then as things were revealed I liked him a lot less. Nyla is a great character. Great job L.P. Dover.
