This is the second book in the series. I haven’t read the first and it was fine. Nico is a mafia man high up in his organization. Inessa is owned by the Bratva. She has led a horrible, painful life. Her best friend is Nico’s daughter. When her friend/Nico’s daughter commits suicide, it sets off a chain of events that will change Inessa’s life once again. Nico blames Inessa for what happened to his daughter. Inessa has never had a say in anything in her life. Nico’s plan for revenge is changed when he begins to have contact with Inessa. He never figured that he would actually fall for the girl. This book has a ton of twists and turns. There is the potential for many triggers as well. This is an age gap mafia romance. The Bratva are known for trafficking. Inessa has been abused in more than one way. Her life isn’t her own and they have plans for her. When Nico and his men find out everything that Inessa has been through it changes things. This book was a crazy ride. I feel for both Nico and Inessa. Both have been hurt. Nico is just looking for revenge for his daughter. A way to deal with his grief. This book was a fantastic read. I look forward to more books in the series. Wonderful job Brooke.
