This is the fifth book in the series. I haven’t read them all but I wasn’t confused at all. They can be read as standalone books. This book is about Reboot and Mavis. Reboot was wrongly accused and nine long years later he was exonerated. Mavis grew up in a cult. Awful things were done to her and it didn’t stop when her mother moved with her and her sister. It still affects Mavis today. It is why she can’t seem to keep a job. Reboot sees Mavis several times and each time she is about to be fired from a job. When a quiet job opens up at the farm, he knows she would be perfect for it. The ladies at the farm know Mavis and some of her story. They agree that she would be perfect for the job. Mavis can’t believe this handsome man wants to help her. What could he see in her or want from her? Once he finds out what happened to her, he won’t want anything to do with her. She had resigned herself to a life with a partner or children. Now she could have that chance. But, then her past makes a reappearance. They want to start the cult again. Mavis would do anything to prevent what happened to her from happening to anyone else. Reboot and those at the farm have her back. They will help her in anyway they can. Will it be enough or will Mavis have to take things into to her own hands? This book was a fantastic book. Mavis is an amazing woman. She has been through so much and has a found a way to move forward and make a life for herself. Reboot has his own struggles. His family isn’t very close to him anymore. Even though he was proved innocent it isn’t enough for them. I love all the guys in this series and I can’t wait to read about the next one. I love Deanndra and she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books.
