Unfinished Business and Unbreakable bonds were my introduction to author Carolyn Ridder Aspenson. I really liked the books. They have a bit of everything. They are a little different than some of the things I read. Still paranormal with the fact that she can see and communicate with ghosts but they still have their own little something that makes them different.

Stay-at-home mom Angela Panther
is living the good life. Happily married with kids, a house in the suburbs and
a fantabulous best friend - she's got it all. But hours after Angela's mother
dies, her ghost pops in for a visit, leaving the door to the other side wide
open. Suddenly Angela's life is filled with ghosts - ghosts who need her help.
Now she must find a way to balance the needs of the living along with the unfinished business of the dead, while keeping her mother's feisty ghost in line. Hilarious and bittersweet, Unfinished Business tackles the emotional rollercoaster of mother/daughter relationships, and the desperate desire for one last chance to tell someone we've lost how we feel.

~ My Review ~
3.5 stars
Angela had everything a person could want. A loving husband, kids, a house. Then her mother died and Angela started
seeing her ghost. At first she thought
she was going crazy. Then she realized
she wasn’t. She is just beginning to get
used to seeing her mother’s ghost and then begins to see other ghosts and they
want her to help them. Angela isn’t sure
she wants this gift let alone to help the ghosts she sees. Her mother tells her the reason came back was
to help her, but she can’t tell her much.
There are rules her mother has to follow about what she can and can’t
tell Angela. This really frustrates
Angela. Angela’s husband and best friend
Mel are there to listen to her and help her.
Her friend takes her to a physic that turns out to be able to help
Angela a lot. Linda, the physic, helps
Angela by teaching her to meditate, saying that it’s okay that Angela doesn’t
like her gift, among other things.
Sometimes Angela thinks that Linda is the only one who can understand
her. Will Angela ever get used to her
new gift? Will Angela begin to want to
help the ghosts she comes in contact with?
I liked this book although for me it was a little slow. I know that a lot things had to be explained
in this book and that’s why it felt slow to me.
It was still a good book. Once
Angela began to come to terms with her gift the book picked up. This book was funny. Between her mother’s ghost and her teenage
daughter funny things were happening all over the place. The friendship between Mel and Angela is
great. They are always there for each
other. They know just what to say to
each other no matter the situation.
Angela was worried that her husband wouldn’t believe her or think she
was going nuts. She was nervous at
first, but he was there for her. He even
encouraged her. I look forward to
reading the next book in this series.
I was given this book in return for an honest review.

Reluctant psychic Angela Panther never wanted to talk to the dead, but the moment she decides it's not so bad, tragedy strikes, and her new gift disappears. When best friend Mel suspects her husband is cheating, she turns to Angela for advice. They concoct the perfect trap, but to make it work, they'll need help from Angela's mother, Fran. There's just one tiny little problem… Fran's dead.
With Angela's psychic radar on the fritz, can the dead find a way to help the living?
