To Love Again Release Day Blitz +Review

To Love Again (Learning to Live Again 2) by Dori Lavelle
Genre: Contemporary Romance Series
Published: Jan 21st 2015

Shaun Brannon is broken to the core. But even though Kelsey's heart is cracking as she helps him carry the weight of his past, she can't walk away from her promise to be there for him, and she can't ignore her deepening feelings. So she tries to accept the little he's offering, even though she wants it all. But after months of wrestling with her emotions, she decides she must risk losing him by asking for more than he's prepared to give her.

Shaun won't admit it, but he aches for more than Kelsey's warm body in his bed. The problem is, something stands between them. The whole truth about what happened eight years ago. When Kelsey demands to have all of him or she'll walk away, he knows the time has come to tell her the truth. But the fear of reliving the past is just as paralyzing as the thought of losing her.

This is the second book in this series.  Kelsey though she was okay with just being friends with benefits with Shaun but she is realizing that isn’t true.  She wants more from him.  She knows that he has past where horrible things happened and he blames himself.  If he would just open up a little bit to her and let her help him she wouldn’t mind their situation.  He doesn’t though; he won’t sleep over and leaves right after they have sex.  He pushes her away whenever he she brings up his past.  So she comes clean with him and lets him know she wants more.  He tells her he can’t give her more, Kelsey says if he can’t open up and let him help so they can try to have more than they are done.  She has to look out for herself.  She can’t keep doing this, every time he leaves her heart breaks a little.  She knew she would get hurt by him.  Shaun wants Kelsey but he just can’t let go of what happened to his wife all those years ago.  Why can’t Kelsey just like the way it is between them and not want more?  Can Shaun let go of Kelsey now that he has had something with her?  If he just hadn’t drink and then drove on his wedding day everything would be different.  Shaun can’t tell Kelsey the rest of what happened.  He lives every day tormented by what happened to his wife and his part in it.  Kelsey is doing great in her cooking classes and is offered a part time job at The Hot Pot by the owner Lucy.  At least part of Kelsey’s life is going the way she wants.  Now if only Shaun would open up to her and her dad would talk to her again.  Will Shaun realize how much he loves Kelsey be its too late?  Will Kelsey be willing to give him another chance if he does?

This book is even more emotional than the first.  I liked this one more than the first and can’t wait to read the next.  In this book you learn more about Shaun and what happened to his wife.  He keeps going over everything that happened and his part in it.  Kelsey is trying to get him to open up so she can help him without pushing too hard.  She wants to be a friend to him even after she has told him they can’t have benefits anymore.  He can’t do it though; he says he may never be ready.  Kelsey goes through things herself that she doesn’t tell Shaun about.  She has her own emotional path in this book.  I want Shaun to open up his eyes and not lose Kelsey.  What happened with his wife was horrible and it will take time to heal but if he doesn’t at least try soon he will lose Kelsey.  Their story is heart breaking and frustrating to me.  I can’t imagine what Shaun feels.  Kelsey’s dad has a heart attack.  It helps their relationship a lot afterwards.  Kelsey goes home and helps him recover and they reconcile.  I don’t want to give away any spoilers but this is a great series.  Great Job Dori, I will be looking for other books by her.
