Title: Screaming In The New Year
Author: Jody Pardo
Living a charmed life in one of the most remarkable cities, Maggie Silipo had everything she could ever want. She built a successful career for herself, had a beautiful apartment and a desirable lifestyle in which she got to travel. What more could she ask for? While the rest of the world was celebrating with loved ones, she was alone…working.
Blake Matthews owned and operated his IT Firm Leverage Logistics with offices in four corners of the US. Maggie was his right hand woman and his personal assistant. Fantasizing about her boss and wishing for more, Maggie watched from a distance as he charmed the ladies of Charlotte and New York City’s high society.
When Blake has an accident, he realizes just how much he needs Maggie. Now, not only is she his right hand, she’s much more. As Maggie carries Blake and Leverage Logistics, the dynamic between boss and assistant evolves and everyone is keeping score.
I really liked this book.
It is a quick steamy read. Maggie
is Blake’s executive assistant and has been for the last three years. She has a bit of a crush on him however they don’t
have anything more than a working friendship.
Then Blake has a snowboarding accident and Maggie rushes to his side to
be there for him. Will this help Blake
see Maggie as more than a friend and employee?
Maggie learns more about Blake while helping some of it irritates her
cause she doesn’t want to think of him with someone else and some it makes her
like him more. Will Blake finally see
her the way she sees him? This book was
a fun read. Maggie and Blake are both
very laid back and joke a lot when they are together. Maggie does deal with some awkwardness in the
beginning. Blake is a guy who likes to
be on the go; always going somewhere doing something both for work and for
fun. I have read the first book in this
series and liked this one just as much as that one. I look forward to reading other books in this
series as they are released. Great job
Jody on another great book.
