I met Jake when I was seventeen and at eighteen, I became his wife. The years that followed were enchanted, like a fairy tale romance.
Then, in the blink of an eye, my perfect world unraveled—I lost a part of myself and my dreams shattered around me.
At twenty-five, I was left a widow, pregnant, and mother of two.
Fast forward almost five years—I exist but I don’t “live.” I had to learn to live without him, with only our memories and my tears. I raised our children, and I lived his dream, without a thought to myself.
That is, until the day at the stoplight, when a pair of violet eyes stared back at me. In that moment, the numbness started to disappear, and lightning hit, changing my world once again.
***This is the first book in La Flor Series and a standalone novel.
****Contemporary Romance Novel, for MATURE audience.
His lips are covered in my wetness and when he moves to kiss me, I taste myself on him and I’m amazed at how much I like it. Never before have I done this—Jake would always wipe his mouth before kissing me—but Zane, he takes my mouth and owns it. Our tongues are swirling around each other and he takes my bottom lip between his teeth and bites me before leaning back to look at me.
“You like that, baby?” He asks me. I can’t even answer so I nod my head. “That’s only the beginning, love, and we have all night.”
He discards his clothes and quickly rolls on a condom, before pressing his body on mine. I can feel his hardness between my legs. If I move just right, his tip will be at my opening. He takes my mouth once more. He moves onto my shoulders and neck and starts all over again. My hands are in his hair, then I move them up and down his body. I use my nails on his back and when I reach his ass, I squeeze with just enough force to get his attention.
Zane looks into my eyes. “After this, Faith, there is no turning back. You’ll be mine forever and I’ll never let you go. You’ll belong to me, your body will belong to me, and only I will ever touch you again.”
ML is currently stationed overseas with her husband and two children. Her obsessions include Luke Bryan, her mother's cooking (especially her breakfast tacos), wild berry skittles, coffee, dark chocolate, the color purple, and romance novels--the happily ever after kind, of course.
After years of comments from her husband to write and a chance meeting by the city pool where she met one of her favorite authors, ML decided to take a leap of faith into the amazing and exciting world of writing. Terrified, nervous, and with a stomach full of butterflies, she published her debut novel, Leap of Faith, and her second novel, Imperfectly Beautiful is coming soon.
To all the wonderful people who will read her work, thank you. Thank you for taking a chance on her. ♥
This book was so emotional at times; but I great read. This book is unlike any book I have ever read
in a way. Jake is told by a fortune
teller at a fair that he will escape death once with the help of a purple eyed
ghost and the second time he will hand the ghost his treasures. Jake was pissed at what he was told. Aren’t they supposed to tell you that you will
find fortune and love not scared you half to death? This book starts with Jake’s death and then
proceeds with how Faith copes with it.
Faith and Jake’s romance is told with memories Faith has during the
book. It goes on once Faith meets the
ghost and how he helps her begin to live again and finally comes to terms with
the fact that Jake is really gone and he is never coming back. If you are a crier I suggest you have a box
of tissues nearby. I loved this book and
all the characters in it. Faith is
wonderful, strong, and amazing woman.
Jake and Faith’s love was the once in a life time kind but they were
both so young and may have assumed they have their whole lives ahead of them
but life had other plans. Zane comes
along and Faith runs from what she feels for him and from him literally. Zane is patient and knows she needs time to
adjust to him and how she feels for him.
He has become a better man, one that is deserving of someone like Faith
and now he is done letting her run from him.
He is going to show her he means what he says and that he is the man for
her and her girls. I can’t say enough about this book. I highly recommend it. I can’t wait to read the next book in this
series. The characters pull you into
your story and a great story it is; it is wonderfully written. I eagerly await more books from ML Rodriguez.
