Unfortunately while they attempt to deal with their own issues, they have no way of knowing that an even greater danger looms over their future.
“Do you mind if I swim?” Michael asked. “I’ll get my stuff out of the SUV and change while you’re inside. I can put my dry clothes back on afterwards.”
“Brrr. It’s fine with me, and there’s no one else around to care. We’re completely isolated here. So, be my guest.”
I made a trip to the bathroom, got two bottles of water out of the fridge, and headed back to the lanai. The moment I opened the door, I stopped. I thought my heart would stop, too.
From his position near the edge of the beach, Michael was unaware that I was standing in the doorway to the house. He slipped off his shirt and placed it on one of the chairs. He then undid his belt buckle, unbuttoned the top button on his shorts, and then unzipped them. Once those were placed next to the shirt, he took off his black boxers. I watched as he pulled on his swim trunks, slipped on his water shoes, then walked into the water and began to swim.
The image of Michaels naked body lingered in the forefront of my brain. His muscles were well-defined but not overly so. His butt was not flat but not too rounded either. And the glimpse I’d had of his….
You need to be very careful or else you know what’s going to happen. Then where will you be? What if he is really like the man from your dream and you have sex with him too soon and ruin everything?
Sighing, I made my way down to where our chairs were set up and took the same seat. I was so engrossed in watching Michael’s powerful body as he swam that I forgot about looking at the sunset.
My Review
Seneca is a social worker who loves her job. She has a couple clients; a new mother, an
older man recovering from hip surgery, a man dealing with a wife who is slowly
slipping away, and another elder man who she thinks more as a father
figure. She loves helping her clients
and thinks of them as friends more than clients. She is not a state social worker but rather
one with a private program. She has a
dream in which a dark haired handsome man tells how much he loves her, how intelligent,
and beautiful she is. But, it’s just a
dream and she had no clue that he would bring that plus pain, fear, and danger
with him. She is surprised when she
meets her dream guy while visiting one of her clients. He is her client recovering from hip
replacement is almost done with her service; he only has few check-ins
left. He wants her to meet his grandson. Can you guess who he turns out to be? You guessed it, the man from her dreams and
his name is Michael. Michael and Seneca
are both dealing with things from their past.
Michael used to serve in the military and has ptsd. He is working on opening a center to help veterans. Seneca is still dealing with something
traumatic that happened while she was a child.
They help each other overcome the things that are haunting them from
their past. They both are attracted to
each other right away. They have lots in
common and find that they can talk easily with each other, they just naturally
comfortable around each other. The
things in story were emotional sometimes.
Reading about how Seneca is still haunted by her past and some of the
things she went through was hard at times.
Michael story was hard at times also.
I like reading about they found a way to move forward. The characters in this book are great. Reading about how they all come together and
support each other. The story was
romantic and inspiring. I am excited to
read the next book and learn more about the characters story.
