Young, blonde Zelly Wyche has a new baby and a happy life with her dependable electrician husband. She, too, is petrified by the madness and the unthinkable tragedy of the murders. While the serial killers' sole survivor and a victim's brother mount a desperate vigilante hunt for the "Symphony Slasher," a chill runs up Zelly's spine. She is beginning to wonder if the killer could be closer than she thinks. But no. Impossible. She has to be dead wrong....

My Review

I really liked this book.  You could almost right away who the killer was, but that doesn’t really matter.  What makes the book so good is watching his wife put the pieces together.  I am one of those weird people that are intrigued by serial killers.  Not like I want to date one or anything but intrigued by why they do it.  Their reasoning and what makes them kill.  So this book was totally up my alley.  The book switches from her point of view to his point of view.  So you get both sides of the story so to speak.  The book also follows two people affect by the serial killer, the brother of one of the victims and the one victim who got away.  I really liked reading how his wife, Zelly reacted as she was figuring things out.  She herself was like me and intrigued by serial killers.  The book flows really well and the characters are wonderful.  It was cool to get a look from the mind of the killer.  What made him tick and why he picked each victim?  The book also does a small point of view of the police on the task force for the serial killer.  The crimes take place New York city.  A city so big with so many people yet no one sees anything.  Women taken right off the street, one minute they are walking down a street and the next they are gone.  What made it so real and frightening is that it’s true.  In a city that size no one really sees anything.  They are so busy with things they need to do that they don’t see anything else.   I will be looking for other books by Jessica Prichard Hunter.
