My Review
This story picks up right where Vol. 1 ended. Saturday ran away from Mark’s house after
finding the photos. She keeps receiving gifts
in the mail that she assumes are from Mark.
She is both mad and happy about the gifts, mad because she is trying to
get over him and happy because he is fighting to get her back. She has started to date someone else, a
graffiti artist named Axe. She knows she
should break it off but she just can’t bring herself too. She can’t bring herself to be intimate with
him. Kissing is as far as she can go
plus she is always thinking about Mark and comparing Axe to Mark. She doesn’t think Axe is totally invested in
the relationship either but she can’t be mad about it because neither is
she. Then when she finally feels like
she is moving on she sees Mark. She
thought the next time she saw him she would yell and maybe hit him but she
doesn’t. Instead she cries and is
extremely happy to see him. He tells her
he isn’t going to stay away anymore and that he wants to explain about what
happened. Again in this story I really
feel for Saturday. So much is happening. She wants to move on from Mark but deep down
she knows that she still loves and trusts him.
She wants to answers he is finally willing to give and not just for
closure. Then she learns other things
and is scared all over again. I was
surprised by some of the things that happen in this book. I was really happy for Saturday that she
finally got the answers she needed and the ending she wanted. Mark turns out to be totally different than
what she thought at the end of the last book.
Mark is a caring, broken man. He was
worried that his past would affect his future with Saturday. He would rather be sad and alone than hurt
Saturday. The end took be by complete
surprise. I didn’t see that coming at
all but it was great. It was just what
the book needed. I would like to read
more about these characters. I will be
looking for other books by this author.
I really liked this series.
Volume 1:
A flash of green eyes, and then…he was gone.
Mysterious, secluded, powerful, seductive.
Mark Rich shows up in a gallery, and then at a party, and then in Saturday’s dreams.
Wealthy? Yes. Sexy? God, yes.
But who is he? Ostensibly, he appears to be a jack-of-all-trades – a multifaceted Renaissance man.
Her artistic heart will follow him to the depths of his realm, to a world of beauty, art and desire in which she so desperately wants entry.
But Mark has a dark secret…deeper than any shadow Saturday has ever encountered.
Blinded by a craving she has never known, will she find the strength to remove the mask and look past her heart into a reality that may shatter her?
