Synopsis

When faced with a challenge, it’s best to pool your resources.

Liam Mattson used to play his wife’s body like a fine violin. Until a logging accident dampened his fine motor skills and rendered his legs—and the most important part of his below-the-waist playground—useless.

If only Liam would throw himself into therapy with the same vigor he used to throw her into bed, Ivy is sure he’d fully recover. But lately she’s felt adrift, while he’s stuck in self-pity and pre-occupation with a serious threat to his logging business.

When Ward Bose returns from the backwoods, Liam isn’t blind to the heated, guilty glances between his best friend and his wife. And he takes a step he never could have taken if his legs were working—ask Ward to service Ivy in bed.

The moment the three come together, Ward’s heartstrings are tied in knots, and Liam holds them in his fist. But secrets they’re each keeping could tear them all apart…unless they can find a way to share their burdens as easily as they share their love.

My Review

I loved this book.  It has romance, danger, and is emotional.  Liam was injured in a logging accident.  A tree fell on him and he was badly hurt.  He is now in a wheelchair and a year later still hasn’t gone to therapy.  He was told that with therapy he may walk again and have a better use of his hands.  He hasn’t gone because what if nothing changes.  He and his wife Ivy have grown apart.  She is now the one bringing in the money.  She works and the courthouse and sell items in knits on the internet.  She longs for him to want her like he used to.  She doesn’t care if he ever walks again she just wants to feel connected to her husband again.  Then Ward comes back to town and everything changes.  Years ago Ward and Liam went out west together to forge their own way and found something more together.  They had a relationship and then one day Liam almost got hurt and Ward kissed him in front of their coworkers and Liam went off on him.  He came home never to speak to him again.  Now Ward is back and wants to help his friend.  He saw Ivy at his sister’s Friday night get together.  He is immediately attracted to her.  Then he learns she is Liam’s Wife.  Ward Visits Liam and an unlikely turn of events are started.  Liam realizes how he has let down Ivy over the last year.  He wants Ward to give Ivy the things he can’t until he can.  He is going to go back to work and start going to therapy.  Ivy is confused at first and then once things progress she finds herself loving two men.  Both Ward and Liam are working for different logging companies but both are faced with things that happened in their absence.  They are going to work together in all ways to help each other.  Activists are all over Liam’s family logging company and now they have upped the game by threatening Ivy.  Liam and Ward will do everything in their power to protect her.  This book was fantastic.  Who wouldn’t want to alpha males?  The story is great.  Liam is learning to overcome what happened to him and do something about it.  Ivy is faced with loving to men, one her husband and the other his best friend.  She learns that at one time they were together.  Ward joins in and is faced with worry that he may be asked to leave them both one day.  They all come to love each other and lean on each other like they never thought about before.  There were twists and turns in the book.  I will be looking for other books by this author and would love to read more about the characters in this book as well.
