Chrissie Parker is not an ordinary college freshman. Her father, Jack, is a beloved music icon from the sixties. She was raised in a sheltered world of privilege. Then a whirl-wind spring romance with British superstar Alan Manzone rockets her into a tabloid media frenzy. Some loves prove impossible to leave behind, even at UC Berkeley, though Chrissie is determined to live a normal life as a college girl.
Just when things start getting on track for Chrissie, Alan storms back into her world, desperate to reclaim the love of the girl he should have never have let go of and cannot forget. Chrissie must also contend with Neil Stanton, a guy from her hometown who she never wanted to see again, working as a campus janitor, and as irritating and unavoidable as ever.
Chrissie fast learns what it means to be a girl of tokens and tears: the clandestine girlfriend of a famous man, and the loved friend of a guy who is perfect for her, but unable to claim her heart.
As Chrissie fights to build her own future, she is caught between the love of a friend and the love of her life.

Chrissie is now a freshman
in college. She chooses to go back to
school after spring break instead of staying with Alan now she is living with
the choice. She knew the chance she was
taking but she didn’t think that she would never hear from Alan again and that
he would wind up with someone else so soon.
She doesn’t even want to be at college.
She is just going through the motions counting down the days till her
next break from school that is until she runs into someone from her past, Neil
Stanton. Chrissie and Neil become
friends and he is her only friend besides her best friend who she lives
with. After a while she finds herself
attracted to Neil. Neil has his own
problems and secrets. He finds himself
tries to be someone different from who he once was. While on break back in their hometown they
grow closer. Neil confides in her about
his past and how he likes Chrissie but doesn’t want to mess up their friendship. Neil is different from how she thought he would
be and he is very different from Alan.
Chrissie tells Neil that she wants more from him. They start to see each. Neil gets back together with his band and
winds up in Seattle and traveling with his band more often. Then Alan makes a reappearance in Chrissie’s
life. She finds herself torn. She learns things were different than she
thought they were. Things were kept from
her. Alan tried contacting her and
sending her things for about a year. She
must now decide if she wants another shot with Alan. She has never stopped loving him and what she
has with Neil is nowhere what she feels for Alan. But, will things be different this time or is
she just asking for more heart ache.
Neil has his own set of problems.
I like this book a little less than the first one. Again it was emotional and moving. Chrissie just can seem to decide if she wants
Alan and the mess that comes with him or not.
He seems to be the only person she truly wants to let in but can’t at
the same time. Every relationship has
its own set of problems. They truly love
each other but do things to hurt each other when they don’t get what they want
from each other. They need to sit down
and hash things out once and for all. At
the end of this book were previews for the next two books in the series. I really like the series and the characters
in them but I am not sure I can continue to read the series. It’s one of those series that tears at you
emotionally. That being said I don’t
know if I can stop reading the series either.

I've written 26 books in 25 years. I write contemporary romance novels about messed up rich girls with perfect looking lives & naughty little souls and the hot mercurial men they take captive...and on occasion messed up rich girls from exciting periods in US and British history, and the poor Lords and Pirates they hold under their spell.
